Copic Markers Class

I took a three hour copic marker class today at Toyrific in Wooster. It was awesome!!!! Sally Lynn MacDonald taught the class and I want to learn more, more, more.
Can you imagine taking a class on colored markers?? If you are a crafter, I highly recomment it.
Have a safe weekend.

Thank You!

This embossed card is hard to see. It is the harlequin pattern and really looks nice in real life.

Get Well Card

I love how the pastel cards look with pearls added as an accent. I think they look so classy. The card is embossed with the cuttlebug.

Orange & Navy Embossed card

Gisha Girl

This card was fun but very intricate to make. I stamped the card and used my new copic markers to color. After doing it TWICE, I noticed the black by her ear bled into the flesh color. I used mulberry paper for the mats. Other than the bleeding, I am very pleased on how it turned out.
A big thank you to my friends Shelley and Lori for all their input on this card!

Plain & Simple

Flower is embossed on shiny paper.

Harlequin Card

I don't know if you can see the embossing on the black part or not. Is is a very pretty harlequin design. I love the saying on this card!

Navy & Red

I found this navy and red ribbon that just ties the card colors together perfectly.

This is the "corrected" version, maybe if I chalk the white mat is will be better.
I need to do something else on this card but haven't figured out what yet. I do like the color combo.
The Pansy is a Stampin' Up stamp and the nestability mat is a new die from Spellbinder.

I like the colors in this paper. They are feel good colors. I used a nestability die to cut the mat and the flower is a hero arts. The lace is also from Spellbinders.

My Favorite Card!

I love the rubber stamp and the colors on this card. I colored using my copic markers. I do have a lot more to learn about coloring with them! In fact, I am going to take a class on using them the end of May~~

Graduation Card for my Grandson

I went to a three day crop this weekend and in between talking, shopping and eating, I did make a few cards.
This card, called Throwing Hats, is for our Grandson who is graduating June 5.

Cuttlebug and Vellum Cards

I love the ease of the cuttlebug and the cuttlebug embossing folders when you need a card or in this case 6 cards in a hurry! I just cut my card stock, my vellum, used my Martha punch on the side (hard to see), embossed, added the pearls, sprayed on the adhesive and in a very short time these lovelies were finished. I have known I had to make these cards for 2 months and they are due today.
I am going to Scrapbookers Paradise for a three day crop. We have such fun there and the food is awesome. I am so disappointed that none of my friends are going though! Sometimes life just gets in the way!
Have a blessed weekend!

WALLPAPER CARD

I went to Sherwin Williams and they were throwing out a ton of wallpaper books. What kind of a crafter would I be if I didn't take advantage of all that free paper???
This card has a background of wallpaper and the flowers are stamped using the baby wipes ink pad technique. You can find out how to do this by going to Stamp TV and looking at both the background baby wipe technique and the baby wipe ink pad techniques. (link is on the right hand side)

My Way of Storing my Nesties!

I have a zippered CD case that I store my Nesties in.
I cut the top off where the Nestie is taped and put magnetic tape in place of the tape (plus more magnetic tape so they hold securely) and then just put them in the pockets of the CD case.
It is easy to grab if I go to a crop and out of the way if I stay at home.

Road Trip

My friend Barb W. and I went to Toyrifix in Wooster, Ohio yesterday for a copic demonstration. What a nice scrapbook and rubber stamp store! She seems to carry many, many of the new products on the market.

Of course, we had to have a bite of lunch at the Barn which is behind Toyrifix. I do wish we had eaten at the Smithville Inn instead - maybe next trip!

Next month, we are planning a trip to Zoar, Ohio to go to the Stamp and Scrapbook stores.

HAPPY 16th BIRTHDAY to HANNAH March 17!!!

Lady Bug Card

I cased Sharon Johnson's lady bug card. (http://notimetostamp.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/) I used a clear and black transparency. Martha Stewart Border Punch and the clear stamp is Mindscapes from Inkadinkado. Also used is the Nestabilities Label 1. I bought this awesome stamp set from Joan's Gardens (http://www.atjoansgardens.com/). She only charged $2.09 for shipping!!

Please check out both Sharon Johnson's and Joan's Garden blog to see their lovely cards.

Sample Cards using MOXXIE Paper and Embellishments

It's a girl!
Stamp Set is a JustRite Stamp Set
purchased from www.stampingscrapping.com

Door Knob Hanger

Shower Invitation

I was asked to make some sample cards for MOXXIE. If you have not seen their line, you need to check it out. They have the most beautiful papers, I chose the baby papers to make my samples.

This collection is double sided with lovely soft pinks, blues, purples and yellows. They have wonderful stickers - rubons that go on like butter featuring twins, adoption, baby shower and many other rubons and stickers.

I know in the Akron/Cleveland area A Scrapbookers Paradise and the Lodi Outlet store, Crazy for Scrapbooking carry some of the MOXXIE lines.

THANK YOU Card

I don't know why this card is so blurry, maybe operator error????

I used the Spellbinders Nestabilities LABEL ONE to cut the shapes and the Spellbinder Butterfly to cut and emboss the butterfly.

The THANKS is a sticker.
Thank you for looking, please feel free to comment!

Another busy week!

Today is such a lovely day, it is so nice and sunny but still chilly. Next Sunday we go into daylight savings time!

I have been trying to get my sample cards done to send to MOXXIE, have two completed so far, still a few to go but I do have the 3rd one sketched.

My cousin came over yesterday to create greatness and Friday I am meeting friends to crop at Archiver's. Friday I also take the dog for grooming. Today I had an opthamoligist appointment and my eyes are still dilated. They must use new drops these days. I can see to read and drive and before, I was half blind.

Have to package all the meat I bought at the meat sale the other day. Larry has to cut the steaks and chops when he gets home.

He may be getting laid off. We will know, hopefully, by next week.

That is all my "interesting?" news.

Busy Busy Week!

This week is going so fast. Saturday, Michele and I went to Scrapbookers Paradise to crop. I was asked to make 6 cards using MOXXIE papers. If I am posted anywhere, MOXXIE will pay me, if I enter any contests and am posted, they will pay me. Their pp collections are awesome. I chose a baby collection.

Monday I had to go to Rockside Road and meet the guys we are doing the Sportsman Show for and get the stuff for the booth. Larry has a large picture on the booth and my brother in law, David, and Larry have several pics in the photo albums!

Tuesday, I was supposed to go to dinner with my friends from Archiver's but didn't feel up to par and stayed home, I think I got chilled transferring all the stuff into my car on Mon.

Today, I met my friend Linda G. for lunch at Max & Irma's - we had a great time. Hopefully she will be coming over to make cards next week.

Tonight, I have my first meeting for our 45th Class Reunion.

I was supposed to go and help with crafts at Harvest Home but I cancelled for this month.

I love being busy but not quite this busy.

New Adventure!

I have needed to become involved in something worthwhile and hadn't found the right fit for me. I went to a luncheon for Friends of Children's Hospital a week ago and have joined. I also have offered to make the cards they send out to their members for birthday, sympathy and get well.

"Friends" raises money to help the hospital. They are best known for PINKIE the puppet. They need people to cut and sew Pinkie and we also provide funds for materials and the face of Pinkie. Their main fundraiser is the Harness Race.

I went to a Crop last night and made a ton of cards to give to the club. I have posted some below. There are many embossing folder duplicate designs - just in different colors and embellishments

Valentines!

Remember how excited you were in school and it was time to open all the Valentines in your box? I had a crush on Rick Scheu and he got ME a BIG valentine and the rest a small one......until I saw that he got ALL the girls in our group a BIG Valentine ): Heck with him! Funny the silly and important things you remember from 4th grade.

I have been experimenting with making some Valentines. The pink and white one, I sort of copied from Heart Prints (http://www.heartprints.net/gallery/valentine/). I think I borrowed most of Joan's ideas and just used my heart nestabilities and label One nestabilities.

General Greeting Card retouched

This is a fun card to make using the cuttlebug and the paisley and swiss dots embossing folders. The flower is a Prima flower.

Whew, Been Busy Making Cards!

My Colorado grandson has a birthday this month, my step daughter has a birthday on Valentines Day and I have been making birthday cards and note cards. Still have the monograms to put on one set of note cards. The other note card set was posted several days ago.

Both of the birthday cards were embossed using the cuttlebug. The birthday card is Happy Birthday set from provo craft and the butterflies are from spellbinders and you cut and then emboss them in the cuttlebug - a two step process. The butterfly card was very hard to get everything lined up and it didn't turn out as well as I had hoped.

Unisex Card

It is so difficult to find a card that can be used for a guy - I think this card could be either sex!
This card was done using the cuttlebug and the birds and branches embossing folder. I hope you can see the detail when you click on the pictures.

The Blizzard is Finally Over!

The snow started yesterday around 1 p.m. and ended tonight about 7 p.m. I think we received about 8". It snowed and was very pretty, then early this morning it rained and froze and then snowed heavily all day.

Our poor dog went out and was walking and then her poor little legs went through the ice crust and she had a heck of a time doing her business and getting back to the sidewalk.

I finally found someone to plow tomorrow for us. Speaking of plows, the City plow hit the mailbox and sheared it off ): Now we have to mess with putting up a new one.

It was so cold and windy today, I decided tonight was a vegetable soup night so that is what I made for dinner. Yummy!!

Hope everyone has electricity! Stay warm!

I'm Proud to be an American!

I hardly moved from my lazy boy yesterday. I watched the inauguration though all ten balls. I'm tired today, can't even imagine how exhausted our new President and First Lady are.

It made me proud to be an American and see the orderly transition from President Bush to President Obama.

If Hillary couldn't be President, than I am glad that Obama is. It was time for either a woman or a black President.

I just hope the naysayers give the man a chance. He has inherited so much from several of our past presidents. Change is needed. Change can be frightening. Change can be hard. President Obama will make decisions we don't like or agree with. But he is our leader.

God Bless and guide him.

Set of 4 Monogramed Cards

The card on the below post was scanned and these cards are pics. Neither show the true colors.

The bottom cardstock and the circle with Monogram should be the same color as the cream flower but everytime I scan I have that horrible shadow and don't know how to get rid of it. Anyway this is part of a set of cards I made for Kathy for her birthday. Just watch, she doesn't read my blog and this is the day she will decide to look (:

FINALLY, I got out of the house....

after being sick and then went out on the coldest day of the year -6 degrees and wind chill of -15!!! I went to a three day crop. I lost 6 lbs. from being sick and was able to get into an old pair of jeans from Casual Corner. I wore them all day Saturday. I think my waistline was telling me that these are not quite all day jeans. I was really sore when I got home last night. They are at least 8 hour jeans though!! Being sick is a heck of a way to lose weight.

I bought a new scanner and am trying to learn how to scan pictures but not having much luck. I will keep on trying and post what I made this weekend.

Wonderful New Rubber Stamps W/Sayings

I went to a rubber stamp store that is closing and bought some wonderful rubber stamps. The sayings may speak to you..... I hope you enjoy and take comfort in the words:

Always know in your heart that you are far bigger than anything that can happen to you.

FAITH
Keep your faith in all beautiful things; in the sun when it is hidden, in the spring when it is gone.
by Roy R. Gilson

and my favorite:

Lovely Thought for the Day

'To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.'
When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better.
Concentrate on this sentence... 'The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.'

Family Wall of Pride!

Hudson - age 9

Mallorie - age 11

Hannah age 15
T J age 18
Years ago I made these scrapbooks on canvas of the grandkids and Sunny, the basset hound. The small picture is either a birth picture or one that I really like of them as an infant.

Each school year I put in their newest school picture and we see them as we come in and out of the door!

BRRRRRR.......

We are bracing for more winter weather starting today. We are to get several more inches of snow today and then again tonight. The wind is to really pick up and the wind chills will be VERY nippy. I plan on staying in until I leave to go to a three day crop this weekend. I think I need to eliminate much of what I take to the crop, I don't want to drag it all in the store with below zero wind chills!

Not much to share today other than I haven't left the house since last Monday. I have not been feeling up to par since that last episode with taking a pill that my body doesn't like. The time before, it took over a week to feel good again and it appears that will be the case with this episode. I am hardly eating because I keep getting so nauseous. I have lost several lbs.

Have a lovely day and look for some beauty in your world today.

Beautiful Snow!!!!

The past two days we have been having pretty snow falls. Yesterday we received about 3" and today, so far - not even noon) we have received about another 3-4". The dog won't go off the deck, poor short legged basset hound would sink!!

I looked out at my bird feeder and I have 3 Cardinal families visiting. THAT is way cool!!! The grandparent Cardinals could care less but the sibling Cardinal is not happy seeing the other sibling couple. Just like most kids, they want what the other one has. It sure was lovely to see all that beauty against the falling snow. Of course, my camera was down in my workroom ):

I thank God for the beauty and peace of a Cardinal! Someday I will post what they mean to me, but that is another story.

Scrapbook Page on Canvas

I did this layout several years ago but would like to share it with you now. This is my Dad back in 1943 or 1944 when he was in the Navy. I painted the canvas, adhered the layout by running it through my Xyron machine.

The adhesive did not adhere very well, so today I used my Scotch tacky glue to reattach it. The bottle was plugged so I used a pin to clear the clog and gave the bottle a hefty squeeze and 1/2 of the glue exploded all over the back of the layout, the table and me. What a mess.

I hope everyone had a nice New Years! Hannah and TJ came over New Years eve for our 18th annual junk food, banana split, card game and movie night.

Swiss Dots, again, with a small Wedding embossing folder and scored lines make up this card.

I just received my scor-pal from www.stampingscrapping.com today. The score lines on this card were made using the scoring blade that came with my paper cutter. The lines don't come out very intense. That is why I purchased the scor-pal. Hope to have time today to play with it.

Swirls and Swiss dots make up this card. I use the Swiss dots embossing folder more than any other with textiles coming in second.

I used Textiles embossing folder, flat backed pearls and lace to create a fast, lovely Wedding or Sympathy card.
More lace and pearls and the swiss dots folder, oval is embossed with textiles and Thanks from the Thank you folders make a lovely formal card.

I deleted the group of embossed cards and will insert individual cards - hopefully, they will be easier to see.
This card is done using the Swiss Dots and Paisley embossing folders in my Cuttlebug.
You can find either of these folders at www.stampingscrapping.com or www.ohmycrafts.com.

Embossed Cards

The above cards are all monochromatic and are hard to see unless you click to resize them. Then you can see how deeply each folder embosses the paper and all the lovely details.

These cards are all made using my WONDERFUL Cuttlebug by Provo Craft. I make most of them in cream or white and just add lace and/or pearls and in minutes, you have a stunning card.

I would like to thank Sue Nelson of HEART PRINTS for all her wonderful examples, she truly inspires me!

Monogram Cards

This is my first try at uploading a picture. This is also my first time making monogram cards.

I want to thank Sharon Johnson for all the inspiration she shares. (No Time To Stamp Blog) And for all the lovely cards and gifts she shares.

I used paper by The Paper Company called Color connect Stripe, Chocolate 12x12 and Color connect Elegant, Leaf Chocolate 12x12. I found the paper and the ribbon at Archiver's. You are not able to see it in the picture but the ribbon has brown stitching. Click on the picture to see it better.

I used the C-45 Monogram Stamp that is made by JustRite Stampers. You can buy this at 20% off at http://www.stampingscrapping.com/.

Twas the Sunday after Christmas!

My 18 year old grandson has been working for Drug Mart and is experiencing the world of grownups. He had to work Dec. 24, 25, 26, 27 making it impossible to have Christmas with us. I don't care to shop at stores that don't close for Thanksgiving or Christmas!

We are going over to Kathy's for Prime rib tomorrow. She is an awesome cook!!!! YUM!

This year, we did not buy gifts for the kids or grand kids but instead participated with several others in adopting two families for Christmas. Kathy and her family also adopted needy families. I can't wait to hear about their adventures. I encourage everyone to help someone in need next year. It was an awesome experience.

Our group is going to start right now to buy items for next year. We hope to adopt more than two families.

Short and sweet message today.

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope you got everything you wanted from Santa. Larry gave me money this year and I have ordered a Scor-Pal and rectangle Nestabilites from www.stampingscrapping.com. I can't wait to get these, especially the Scor-Pal as I make a lot of cards.

If you have not been to her store, please check it out, she has weekly specials and will soon have an inventory reduction sale. She charges actual shipping and her shipping time is phenomenal. She gives the kind of customer service that you are looking for!

Enjoy your family and friends today.

God Bless.
